Maria Branyas Morera
Maria Branyas Morera was born in San Francisco CA in 1907 after her family moved to the United States from Catalonia, Spain.
In March 2020, Maria became the oldest person in the world to recover from COVID and called on Spanish society to ensure that the elderly not become “the forgotten ones.”
We filmed Maria in February 2023 in the nursing home where she has lived since 2000. In addition to visiting with Maria, we were able to speak to Rosa, Maria’s youngest daughter, who maintain’s Maria’s popular Twitter account.
